BARBARA B. WAGNER


Barbara is a partner in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida law firm of Wagenheim & Wagner, P.A. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania and graduated summa cum laude, first in her class, from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center in Fort Lauderdale. Barbara has been practicing workers' compensation law since 1988. She is board certified by the Florida Bar in the areas of Worker's Compensation and Appellate Practice.*

Ms. Wagner is licensed to practice law in the State of Florida, as well as in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She is on the Board of Directors of Florida Workers' Advocates, and is also a member of the Broward County Bar Association, the Florida Bar Workers' Compensation and Appellate Practice Sections, the Broward County Women Lawyers' Association, and the St. Thomas More Society.

Barbara serves in numerous other capacities. She chairs the Amicus Committee of Florida Workers' 'Advocates and is past chair of a Florida Bar Grievance Committee for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit. She also serves on the Moot Court Committee for the Florida Workers' Compensation Institute's Annual Educational Conference, and is a mentor in the Take Stock in Children Program in Broward County.

Barbara is a member of the National Football League and Professional Hockey Players' Association Panels of Workers' Compensation Attorneys. She represents injured workers, including athletes, at the trial and appellate levels.

Additionally, Ms. Wagner has made presentations on workers' compensation topics and served as a panelist during numerous conferences and seminars. She has presented Case Law Update at the Florida Workers' Advocates Annual Educational Conference and she has been a speaker at Seminars sponsored by the Florida Bar, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the Broward County Bar Association, the University of Miami School of Law, and the NFL Players' Association Panel of Workers' Compensation Attorneys.

Barbara participates regularly in state government lobbying efforts representing the interests of Florida's injured workers.

*To become a board certified specialist, the Bar requires that a lawyer pass a written examination in the specialty area, complete approved legal education programs, demonstrate substantial experience in the specialty area, be favorably evaluated as to ability and experience by judges and other lawyers, and exhibit outstanding character, ethics, and a reputation for professionalism.
